(X3TC) Pirate Sectors and Invisible M2/M1

So, this is kind of odd... I'm in the Unknown Sector near PTNI HQ. Theres a Pirate Base there, 3 stations and 2 laser towers.

I took the laser towers out and one of the stations to try and make the pirates angry to send ships out to attack me so I can try to cap them.

Well, it didn't work so I decided to destroy one of the other stations and as I was flying up to it, I noticed a ship below it. It is an Argon M1/M2. It not on the sector map or radar. It just chilling there, doing its thing. I can't target it, but my weapons do hit it as far as I can tell visually. (Visual report from weapons fire)

Any Ideas?

It's not a ship, it's part of the station--guessing that's a Mercenary Training Base, they presumably use the hulk of an old ship for training purposes.

That makes a lot of sense... Now I feel a bit inadequate.

Don't feel alone; I flew around the one in Home of Light for probably 5 minutes trying to figure out what it was and why I couldn't target it.

If you look closely you can see little shuttles going to and from the ship. My guess is it was decommissioned and is now used for ship boarding training. I thought it was a derelict too.

That's the sort of awesome detail that qualifies as 'oft overlooked'. I never got that close to find out. Cool stuff.
