X3:AP FPS issues, another data point

FPS issues during medium-to-large fleet engagements. No noticeable stuttering, but much much worse frame rate than X3:TC.

Edit: I did some other testing around the galaxy. In perpetual sin (just asteroids so far in my game) I get 25 fps at the lowest possible settings.

I loaded up a new game based on feedback from the forum. This new game was a silky smooth ~60fps (vsync enabled). I even downloaded the cheat script and dumped satellites in all the sectors. Still 60fps.

Lastly, I went back to my main game and destroyed all my TS ships. Still crap fps =\

X3:AP 1.0 (Steam) no mods/scripts

I can provide a save-game prior to a big fight (5-20fps) if necessary. Humble Merchant start w/ about 10 TS ships automated around 5 stations.

I started with ffdshow/haali installed (CCCP) and on-board sound enabled. I removed/disabled each in turn with no noticeable fps gains. The DXDiag output below reflects my current system state w/ these changes made.

I've run at both 3x30" resolution (7680x1600+ eyefinity) and 1024x768 w/ the graphical options full-blast and bare-bones for both.

No noticeable FPS changes in any configuration.

Gretech codec is from GOMtv's GOMplayer. GOMtv hosts the GSL Starcraft 2 tournament, so a few of us nerd-ballers watch it

I have removed it and quickly retested - no gains.

It's in space right before the engagement. I start off at 20fps (1024x768, all graphical options on low), and as I get closer to the ships, it drops down to ~15. Once the fighting starts it's pretty variable (from 5 to 20).

Your problem may be related to the amount of drive space on your C drive. You only have 7.7 GB left, yet your Windows pagefile can go up to 20 GB. This can cause excessive hard drive access during gameplay, resulting in decreased framerates. I'd suggest that you either make more space on the C drive, or move the pagefile to another drive with more space.

I installed SWTOR last night (easily 20-30gb). The problem also predates that install.

However, while I don't foresee this as the direct issue (paging file problems normally create large stutter from my experience) I have fixed it (read: uninstalled bf3 and moved eve online) and retested. There is now 33gb free on my SSD.

No noticeable changes.

Edit: I re-read this and realized I may sound condescending. I appreciate the help and value your suggestions =)
