Okay, I raised up this issue in another post.
Borons have three sexes, male, female, and most puzzling of all, Lar.
Now, I've heard they develop in stages, progressing through each sex with age, but I've also had conflicting reports of which process it is. It seems that female is likely last, with Queen's and such ruling (usually).
Can anyone here clear that up?

But.... Boring Boron start clearly states you're not royal, and boring.
Also, now thinking, it might be the other way around, males last.
As we know, the current queens had a husband who died in a station accident. But the queen had a daughter, by the same husband?
Biologically, there are several animals that do similar things, most notably the Whiptail lizard, which when the male dies off has the strongest among the females become a male, which means the best genes get passed on. Do Boron have something similar?
