Can marines on your ship get out and repair it for you?

Is it possible to order marines or slaves or whatever on your ship to get out and repair like you would with the repair laser yourself? I was wondering if multiple ones in tandem would help repair my corvettes faster...

I think there is a mod around here somewhere that allows that but you cant order that in vanila
