Logitech extreme 3d pro throttle not adjusting speed parameter

I'm sure this is an old subject that's been targeted and solved, however i am unable to locate it's location. I have the aforementioned joystick and as described am having issues with the throttle effecting the speed of the ship. Any clues?

As long as you have it configured in windows its a fire and forget stick. Mine is getting on a bit now and some times tends to drift to the left as the pot is a bit worn with way to much combat

When it does that I normally unplug it while the game is running then plug it back in and that resets it.
