ok how do I fly to the spot on the Khaak Capital ship that Ben Danna has marked for me...I have tried many times and either get hit by the rotating arms on the ship or blasted by the laser

THis isn't an easy bit to do and took me a few times to do it.
I assume you have Salvage insurance so you need to save regularly.
The way i did it was to get close enough so as not to get attacked but not close enough to get hit by the rotating arms and stop there. Save. Wait for the target to rotate round to where you are and accelerate towards it but not too hard or you won't trigger the cutscene.
Hopefully this will help you. Either that or hopefully someone else can help you. Just remember to save alot.
