(TC) Repairing Rep via Pirate Station thingy

Is the software rewrite, or whatever it's called, a one shot item or can you use it repeatedly to repair your race rank?

its not one time thing so you can get it endlessly with random npc spawn , but
i never raised race reputation with them
they only offer station reputation fix hacking service if theres any red stations in 3 jumps range

you can also get that offer from trading stations (still pirate NPC-s)

Getting a station hacked doesn't repair Reputations, it just allows you to dock at the station. It's entirely possible to hack a station but have it surrounded by hostile stations and their laser towers..

But, Station Hack missions will spawn in sectors near stations that are hostile to you, so you can always be assured that there is at least one way for you to get access. But, you have to keep an eye out for them.

and then once you have it hacked, you can trade with it to boost your sector race relations.

Note that even if you hack a station, you still have to have a high enough rep with the race that owns the hacked station to dock there. Hacking only removes it's hostility flag and does nothing for your race rep. It is most useful when you've accidently turned a station hostile, even though the race still likes you.

I think in Reunion they had some BBS options to "donate" money to the race, which would increase the race rep. Wish they still had the BBS because they were funny and interesting.

Yeah. The BBS would also tell us once in a while about where the Xenon invasions where too. If I remember right.
