XTC Vanilla or XRM?

I started playing X3 Renion when it came out - ooh, a long time ago is that.

I have only played a single game start. It is only now that I am approaching Xtreme status and expect to achieve it in both categories in the next few weeks.

When I do I will start XTC. My question is this: should I start with the vanilla version or should I start with the rebalance mod, XRM?

What are the pros and cons? Is XRM a deeper experience of the X-Universe?

At this rate I do not think I'll ever play X Rebirth.

If you haven't play vanilla play it first, otherwise you won't really know or appreciate what changes some mod or script adds to the game.
