X-BtF Can't understand the alien after the starting jump

X-BtF Can't understand the alien after the starting jump

Hi, I just got X-BtF from Steam, and I got started, but now I'm talking to this alien. I can select questions on the screen but this guy just hisses and whispers at me and I can't understand a word he's saying. Am I supposed to be able to talk to him at this point? Do I need a translator or something?

If you keep going through random dialog options, your computer will "learn" the Teladi language.

After that, everything will automatically be "translated" to English.

He does talk weird.. and its a bit dumbfounding that there are no subtitles for such terrible voice work...

However lucky for you there isnt much dialogue that you need to worry about in the game..

This first alien guy basically tells you that he will repair your ship to save you from death...
so now you owe him 3500 credits.

So go trade, get 3500 credits and pay him back (or dont... its a harder route.. but u can choose not to pay him and become an outlaw :) )

Oh great, so that awful hissing whisper is supposed to be English?
