Where can I buy a repair laser?
I can't seem to find a repair laser. Where can I find one?

It feels like one. Maybe they should allow us to repair with our own resources, maybe they should give us repair drones, maybe they should make M5s actually useful at something giving them repair lasers. There was a million ideas for this feature, and Egosoft just never got to making it right. And that's one of not that many things they actually could improve without all that much hassle, as opposed to the autopilot or the economy of the universe, which required a total rewrite (and then another, judging by the fact they won't even tell if Rebirth will be released before the Summer).pjknibbs wrote:Impressive--you managed to have some sort of problem with the repair laser six years before it was actually introduced in any game?delray wrote:Yes, we live with that bad design choice for a decade now.
Where is it?

Repair Lasers can fit on many ships, not just M7 (note: I don't have AP).
The reason for this is that it takes up the same slot as both the Mobile Drilling System and the Tractor Beam. The Utility Slot. Any ship that can use these can mount the Repair Laser. In a Vanilla (read: unmodded) Game, however, the RL can't be purchased for love or money, nor does it drop.

You do realize the main reason they added it to the game was to let the player repair his own ship in the beginning stages of the game rather than pay through the nose every time the player's ship took hull damage. It was never meant to be an easy fix for damaged ships. So in that regard, I'd have to disagree with your contention that "Egosoft just never got to making it right". I'd say that they got it "just right".delray wrote:...There was a million ideas for this feature, and Egosoft just never got to making it right....
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

No one is asking at all trading stations, but having a chance to get some say on an Aran would be nice.
