X3 Reunion - Bala Gi and Custom Games

Can you still get the Bala Gi missions - assuming you meet the requirements - when playing a custom game in Reunion or do the Bala Gi missions count as "plot storyline"?

I did see the requirements. I just wasn't sure it applied to non-storyline games.
