[AP] Split Tiger
Hey there, ive recently bought a Tiger class frigatte and ive been trying to get it kitted out. i figured FAA and some PRG would be ok for the turrets to swat down fighters and stuff, but i cant seem to find a good main battery weapon, other than the elusive IBL...for the life of me i cant get my hands on them :/ does anyone have a viable alternative to these while i work my way threough some Yaki ships to get them?

Ion Shard Railguns and Concussion Impulse Generators are your next best bet on a Tiger. IBLs are definitely better though.
I'd like to shoot you in the butt with a EBC gun, hide in the asteroids and laugh at what I done, put a blood blister upon each bun, I'd like to shoot you in the butt with a EBC gun.
Some people are like slinkies, not worth a whole lot, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

tiger needs IBL's for offence, that said pretty much all M7's need IBL's for offence.
Joe aint far off though... CiG's and ISR make a decent weapon, the fact that the Tiger hs such a tight packed forward battery, and the positioning of the side turrets you can end up with 12 ISR/CiGs firing at a target which can do a fair bit of damage!!

on the other hand i find the lack of "bullet spread" an advantage... especially when your trying to punch M6's and certain smaller M7'sGOSNELL wrote:I think the main problem is its bullet spread
It took me an age to get 8 IBLs, I docked a trader in the IBL Forge in LooManck Strat's Legacy and was able to buy 3 right away, the other 5 took some serious waiting, it takes the forge 4 hours or 40 mins left on SETA x 10 just to make one. Once I had my Tiger fully outfitted I destroyed tons of M7s and have never had an IBL drop ever.
If you're friend with Yaki, you can supply their two IBL forges, make some money in the process, and have a constant (but rather slow) source of IBLs.JTWibble wrote:It took me an age to get 8 IBLs, I docked a trader in the IBL Forge in LooManck Strat's Legacy and was able to buy 3 right away, the other 5 took some serious waiting, it takes the forge 4 hours or 40 mins left on SETA x 10 just to make one. How to make friends with the Yaki:
1) DONT SHOOT THEM
2) Perform missions for them when possible
3) If you have any spare ships you don't need, sell them at their shipyard. (For some reason some trade and docking restraints aren't put on ships you're not flying in.)
4) Once you get enough rep with them, trade when possible.
5) Although it may butcher relations with other races, help the Yaki out against Skirmishing forces when the oppurtunity arises.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for IBL's... Your best bet is to go after Pirate capital ships, However I have also seen IBL's drop from Yaki capital ships before (Specifically Akumas). Although You rarely see them drop out of capitals, the higher your combat rank the more likely they'll drop them.
Or you can trade your way into owning some like some others here have mentioned...
Besides IBL's... I wonder how the Xenon get them? And why they only use them on their Q's...?

Happy accidents are just another form of discovery, except they are way more fun.
Had same problem now have enough got most of mine from missions. Pirates really hate me as I pirate hunt a lot. But they usually carry them so when they attack me
Don't know what I did to the Boron but they hate me too. Oh yeah I keep stealing their casinos. (didn't know the Boron were gambling addicts)

yeh i personally wouldn't worry too much about the IBL forge in pirate space, why feed 1 when you can feed 2 with the Yaki...
space fuel and space weed are easy ways to make good with them, both can be sold at their stock exchange, and i think in weavers tempest once you get access.
if you set up space weed you should start getting a steady flow of Argon/Paranid ships coming to trade at your station... they are just too easy!! youll get the odd paranid patrol, i would personally try to stay back from them since the rep loss is pretty heavy when you destroy all of them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
another fairly easy way to get IBL's is to go give some lovin to the Duke's Fleet, ive had the Duke's Zeus come with quite a few IBL's in the past. and ive read posts where others have said the same. makes a good boarding training sector too. just beware PSG's!!

inevitably Pirate ships are the biggest target if you wanna farm IBL's, and they are fairly common when you start looking for them. again you could end up with some pretty well trained marines doing so.
