I'm playin an unmodded version of AP (I only got the bonus pack installed), steam client, italian language.

Hello. Is it like that with a new gamestart or just when using previous gamesaves? Have you changed anything on your game or system between it working and not working?

Try changing the game language setting to a different one and see if that works, then back to Italian and see again.

Try running the Steam verify gamefiles cache tool for both X3TC and X3AP then restart the Steam Client and hope for a repair or update download.

You can also get and try slightly a newer RealTek HD Audio driver for Win7 x64 from the RealTek driver update site.

Hello.
Thanks for your help, Alan: I'm having a new gamestart since I bought AP few days ago.
I tried all your suggestions (except the last one: my audio drivers were installed recently and I'm not gonna change my realtek audio driver for just AP) but nothing worked. I still have all the sounds but no voices.
It seems I'm destined to play AP without voices........ oh well, after all "in space no one can hear you scream".

i've noticed in my game, if i plug headphones in during an active game, i lose the voices, i have to close the game and reset the sound control (in sound options in the main pc control panel) to headphones then restart the game, works fine then.

I would at least try a newer RealTek driver and then set-up your soundcard again because:

1. It cannot hurt to try it and it is ever so easy to roll-back to what you have now.

2. Your current driver set-up shows this:
