Oh WoW M7M Baby
Hey guys
Ive been spending alot of time trading and playing with m2's and m7's out of curiousity but i had yet to try and "M7M"
Over the past 2 days i bought myself a nice little Minotaur and equipped with as many Heavy Hammer Torpedo's as i could
Decided to pay a fun visit to Omicron Lyrae And uhm. wow leveled the sector in 15 minutes
Is there a way to improve AI's reactions to an M7M? this is just OP to the max, even against fighters. the torpedos chase them all over the sector , its pretty funny to watch

Yes, it's a mod. No, it's not vanilla friendly. It is however very effective at killing missiles before they reach their intended target.Naroku wrote:Is MARS a mod? Would be great if vanilla friendly
To put it another way: MARS was tested against three M7Ms, firing some sixty missiles at an M2. Not one of them got through.
If you're playing TC, installing the Missile Defense Mk2 will also help. While not as effective as MARS it is way better than vanilla TC turret scripts. It won't work in AP, though, and I think AP already has improved turret scripts.

Yeah AP did get an improved inbuilt script. but its only really great for the player. MARS is great appearently if you want the AI to actually use it as well as you.Zaitsev wrote:Yes, it's a mod. The AP Script needs to be adjusted/options changed before it works at its full potentiol and that only applys to the player.
Thing is, once you install MARS, even if you only use the MD MK2, missile based boarding is almost impossible. It seems to be intelligent enough to fire on Hammers so that they end up killing one another, rather than knocking down the shields.
MARS itself is even more potent. I ended up turning them off so I could take targets again.
Even a Steve-style fighter based shield suppression didn't work, because the turrets would immediately take out the Boarding Pods. Be ready to launch Barrages of pods, instead of just a handful.
