(X3TC) Space Anomaly: Energy Beams Frozen in Stasis Quantum Time Thingy
Space Time Warp Stasis Event... whatever ...
Came across this strange phenomenon while flying in Power Circle. Spotted a sparkle in the distance (about 30km), which at first appeared to be missile trails. But they were not moving. So I checked them out and this is what I found:

As you can see in the shots including the sector map, the objects are plainly visible in the map 'camera mode' too.
At first I thought they were some sort of big crystals, but then realised they were in fact energy beams, probably from CIG's. They were not totally static, as these were rotating very slowly, each on its own axis, seemingly at random. I had not fired any weapon in sector at that time... so where did they come from? A ghost ship?
I put up a nav sat to mark their position, and they remained there for quite sometime before vanishing one day. This was the only time I came across them in TC.... I wonder if anyone else has come across this mysterious type of space artifact.
note the images are all in 1920x1200.

There has been some explation of it somwhere. IIRC it was somting about memory..... I think. Once you leave the sector they will disappear forever but enjoy the spectle while you can.
This happened to me once but on a greatly increased scale as shown here. It was literally a ghost ship (I could fly through it).

1940s - Various "computers" are "programmed" using direct wiring and switches. Engineers do this in order to avoid the tabs vs spaces debate.

Heh, wait until you use a salvage insurance save just at the critical moment as a ship blows up. You very rarely can get a frozen image of the ship left in space that is totally intangible and collision-free. Great for posing wierd screenshots of two ships superimposed in each other to make strange hybrid craft.
Like the bullets in your pics, these artefacts are just left-overs when a save or some other issue interrupts the scripts that should have removed them.

This first happened to me a couple weeks ago. I'd never heard of it before but I posted a slideshow in the new SotW thread.
This is only a virtual reality.

^ Brilliant
What will you call it? Catching the Wave? The Golden Surfer? Hang Ten on a CIG Energy Beam?
I never thought of doing that...
excellent slide show...
only unfortunate thing about that link of yours was a malaware threat was detected when I clicked on the image... sad thing about image shack... all those bad ads... ruins the fun a bit..
Tip to others: the slideshow button works fine (patient zero's link), but do not click the image itself if you want to avoid the malware.

Reminds me of the Star Trek TNG episode Timescape
Havn't seen anything like it myself yet, nicely caught though

I once had such a mirage Odin when the Argon decided they should sent half a dozen discoverers after my Mjolnir with some Novas nearby. I flew to the Odin so it could take on the fighters, but when it didn't show up on the map I realized I was in for some trouble...Alan Phipps wrote:Heh, wait until you use a salvage insurance save just at the critical moment as a ship blows up. As for the gun artifacts: I'v encountered them quite often already. Never really bothered about them though.
