exploit at all, just attack and destroy enough LTs that are still deploying (yours or others') and hope for weapon drops as loot.

Yeah, ships only drop uninstalled wares it seems, and the new 10min setup time means it's possible to get them!

FYI, I find the PBC Carrack the most potent ship in AP, you will undoubtedly ruin your game if you ever get one.

I got 62. With 8 PBC's each. It's a demon ship, taking out multiple Q's without loosing much shield. Or kill a J without even noticing it.

I noticed this feature in most of my M7, provided I pilot it

I got one and I use it mostly for spacefly hunts in UFJD because it is big and can mount IOD as a main gun. Why is it OP, is it good under AI?

no PBC in TC, 2 PALC. 2 unless you do one of the cloning tricks.

Just got myself a few carracks with PBC's in, how do they perform OOS?

Never lost one so far. Have the Argon home sectors covered with one Carrack, along with the route to Tkr's Deprivation. That's where I have my weapon complex. Haven't seen anything bigger than a PX and escorts so far, but none have damage.

They have to be in their countdown timer phase between being dropped and their activation to have a chance of a loot drop. Once activated there will be no drops.

By the way, it is not really considered an exploit (not like cloning things out of nothing or for free) even though the ware sizes for LTs vs PBC/shield seem messed up and it seems rather silly that you cannot buy the weapon without the rest of the LT or just simply remove it yourself and still have a useful shell left in space (LT less PBC equals well-shielded Beacon/Satellite?).

Yeh agreed, it's kind of an oversight as far as I see it.
They arnt that good anyway, sure my carrack can chew up q's for breakfast at 5km, but things start getting tricky at close range, and swarms of fighters are a problem. Also, anything bigger than the carracks own class can be dispatched with other things much faster.

Ill send the Carrack into Grand Exchange and see how it does against some real foes OOS

(I dont think its going to end well, 2gj of shielding is useless

)

Carrack is of course crap when used by AI. 2gj shield is a joke.

I used it to clear Xenon sectors without breaking a sweat. The strength of it comes from the excellent coverage of the PBC turrets. I simply targeted a ship and concentrated on evasion, and the target, even an I, would die very quickly. Another important thing was to switch to targets that endangered me (such as heavy missiles) in time.

Edit: Mosquitoes are not trusty because they tend to be killed by PBCs before hitting the targets.

An even lazier way to fight is to edit the "attack my target" command to begin with missile defense. In such case you'd kill more slowly (since the PBCs would automatically switch to attack missiles and change back to your original target only when the missiles are killed.) but you wouldn't have to worry about missiles any more.

All of the 8 PBCs attacking the ship that's chasing you behind is absolute overkill! If you fly it right, it'll be stronger than any other capital ships in game.

An overtuned PBC Carrack is an absolutely overpowered monster! In my opinion even worse than Springy or Hyperion could ever be.

I took mine (going 159 m/s) to the Terran sctors and cleared out Asteroid Belt and Jupiter with ease killing multiple Terran and ATF capitals without ever having a tight situatuion.

With 8 PBC it doesn´t matter if your target is doing 5 or 500 m/s it will go down... a Tyr or Kyoto just takes a little bit longer.
