[X3TC] raising negative rank quick?
Ok, situation is this: My Boron rank is enemy of menelaus. What are my options to raise it? They don't let me dock or offer missions. Is all i can do to patrol their non-core sectors and kill pirates etc?
You can:
Look for Borons offering missions outside of Boron Space.
Build a fab that Borons will buy from.
Head over (way over!) to the East and patrol the Boron sectors round there for Xenon.
Can't think of much else, but there's probably something I've missed...

That's what i tried do at one point, but i need bigger ship to kill Q's and P's. Well, maybe i just do few assassination missions more to get money for M6 and then head therekurush wrote:That^ You rank can be too low for missions to impact it. Kill several Qs in Menelaus Paradise (or whatever is the sector right of Getsu Fune) and you should be good.perkint wrote:Boron sectors round there for Xenon.
Bombers are better at killing both of those.

Basically if you're at 0%, total blood enemy of a race, you have several options for repairing relations:
1) Kill pirates/yaki/xenon/Khaa'ak that happen buy in their space. In Boron space, this is tricky because the spawn rate for rogue units in Boron space is a bit low at times.
2) Kill off enemy race units in their space. This, of course, carries the added complication of lowering your rating with that other race.
3) You can try to run missions for Borons in border sectors, but if your rating is too low this will not help you at all.
4) If you're really stuck you can use Cyrow's cheat options to spawn enemies in Boron space to kill off. Slightly game breaking, but less breaking than manually correcting your rating.

If all else fails, there are always Split in Hila's Joy, and Faded Dreams. Since the Boron are at war with them, you can kill them to boost Boron rank and then run missions to keep Split rank level.

Escort missions are your best friend if your rep is at the lowest level that doing mission would not help.
For the Boron, head to a Boron Border sector that is adjacent to a race you are friendly with (say you are friendly with the Split or Paranid: Barren Shore). In there avoid Customs and the police but do look for friendly ships asking for an escort out of the Boron sector. Killing the enemy will bring up your rep. (Boron ships asking for escort do not work).
I found that this is the best way to get out of the hole and I used it extensively for the Split and Paranid in the Unholy Traitor start where you are enemy at the lowest level for both races. Works for both TC and AP (and XTC with the Split start).
Just remember that the goal is to kill the pirates/Yakis/Xenons that are spawned. You would care less if the target ships to protect do not make it

Then just do a few missions for the Pirates and Yaki,if they are important to you
I have been playing Bankrupt Assassin start. Not many friends and you have no credits. First few minutes are quite tough.
