AP Capping a Q
I must be doing this wrong i have a minataur and a cobra both with 20 100% all skills I engage a q after deleting all other xenon gets its shields down to 0% and order my minataur to begin boarding i then do the same with the cobra they land I have 20 plus marines who get to deck two and that is where i get told operation failed and all marines who were onboard are dead.
A heads up on this would be apressiated. TYIA

scan the target to make sure it doesnt have internal sentry lasers.....
from what i understand its best to stagger the boarding (i.e. wait until the 1st marines are through hull to launch the 2nd wave) i've yet to get around to boarding xenon in any of my games tho so someone else might be able to give better insight

Make sure you scan it and use ion disrupter's to kill off as many things that can hinder boarding as possible.

The key is staggering the launches and using all 5 by 5 by 5 by 5 meatbags.
If you launch all 40 at once, 19 of them will go swimming, since the target
can only hold 21 at a time.
You need to send in the first 20 then send the rest in as required to keep
the numbers above 17 at all times or they all die. Timing the reinforcements
is a bit tricky, especially if there is significan flight time, but get it right and
you should have a shiny Q.
I wimped out a bit and used twice as many marines as needed.
That way I could reinforce more often then strictly necessary.
Wasteful, but effective.

AP Capping a Q
Still cant get it I addume i have two attack the q twice once with ionds etc and then go for the boarding stage
It's really quite easy. Just get his shield down, launch your first pods, lay down a bit of flail fire to cover the pods.
Now transport your second 20 marines over. When the first lot enter the Q, launch the second wave, also some Flails. Now save the game. Use SETA to ensure everyone reaches target and to ensure any that jump out of the Q aren't shot at. You should take the Q with about half your 40 marines left.

Well i believe i have mastered capping Xenon ships with
21 Xenon I's
6 Q's
8 J's
2 K's (don't cap them anymore prefer I's)
Get yourself a cobra and a hyperion thats all and have hyperion follow.
flails and hammer missles.
with a q use only flails.
28 marines is all you need no more.
when you have taken down q's shields send marines from cobra fly the cobra and keep using flails. to keep shields down below 5%.
move across 8 marines from hyperion send a few more flails to keep below 5% shields.
send them send a few more flails.
you should have 20 marines cutting and will board at deck 1. and the other 8 cutting. if all goes well.
when you get past deck 1 any marines OVER 21 will be sent into space.
collect them after you've capped it.
you will need 15 at deck 5 to hack.
