Hi,

Using AP with no mods or scripts.

Now I have never come across this problem before. :?

I was in the middle of a fight in my Griffon which has Conncussion Impulse Generators in the front turrets as they have been for many hours.

Suddenly they appeared out of line with the target reticule then they stopped firing altogether.. :evil:

The flak arrays continued as normal but no weapons at the front.

So I reloaded some previous saves and the guns didn't work in them either.

So I re-booted the pc and tried again, same result, so I changd weapons to IRE's and others for a test ..... no guns.

As I have the mouse hovered over the incoming message icon I can see the pc responding to the trigger presses as the word incoming message flashes.

The joystick is working fine, I have tested it.

Some very early saves work fine but most don't.

This is very confusing, so any ideas?

I can post a dxdiag tomorrow as it it late tonight but I don't see how that can be a problem as some games work and some don't?

Maybe a hard drive glitch corrupted a file. Try a Steam file verification.

Hi,

OK, performed a steam verify and no change but what is very interesting is that when I change ship to another one the weapons fire perfectly in that ship.

Dock back to the Griffon and no weapons fire. :evil:

Changed sector no change.

Any ideas on that problem....?

Sounds like a newly-corrupted turret/cockpit issue and that is odd for a vanilla ship if not picked up by a Steam verify. That sort of thing (not exactly this though) most commonly happens when a Steam update changes the models for a ship that is already in play in Player hands in the savegame. When that happened before, those affected had to sell that ship and buy a new one of its type to get over the issue.

You might consider sending a PM with a link to this thread to Gazz who is most likely to have the necessary knowledge and insight to track this down.

My thoughts exactly, sell the Griffon and buy another one.

I'll pm Gazz then perhaps he can have a savegame to test.

As per CBJ's instructions, brought a new Griffon, weapons now fire.
