x3ap a single Boron ship attacking my SpcFl Complex

After reading a bunch I decided to put a Space Fuel complex in Elena's Fortune. It had been up and running for a while, but just today a Boron Thresher started attacking my station for what seems like no reason. There are a few M3s with it but they aren't attacking or even aggressive. The Thresher is the only thing red to me and I'm afraid it will shoot down my energy buyers like it tried to shoot me down.

I'm well respected with the Borons and nothing else attacks me. If I hail the other ship I have the option of asking him to cease fire, which he does for a few seconds, then he goes red again and starts firing. This time he won't stop when I ask him to and just keeps firing at my station.

I started the game as a Humble Merchant and haven't done any aggressive things towards anyone just trading. I wasn't even in the sector when the single Boron ship started attacking.

It's just the one, the ships with him are still friendly. Is there anything I can do? I only have a Split Chimaera I can't fight it is there some other option?

Space Fuel is illegal in Argon Space

put them in pirate/Yaki/Teladi space (or unknown sectors)

Wouldn't the Argon attack it then also? They just fly by and trade with it too actually. Like in Herron's Nebula.

I am new to the game but it seems like it's glitching, the ships with it aren't being aggressive at all.

Pure luck. If you have an illegal factory (like Space Fuel in Elena's Fortune) then any passing patrol of any race may turn hostile and attack it...it's just that the first passing patrol in this case happened to be Boron. (Elena's Fortune isn't a heavily patrolled sector, so that's probably not too surprising).

Basically, this ship will stay hostile until either the illegal factory is destroyed or it is--and if you somehow do destroy the Thresher, that's just delaying the inevitable; some other patrol will eventually come along and start the process all over again. You'd be best off just letting the station be destroyed and then rebuilding somewhere where spacefuel isn't illegal (any of the pirate sectors adjacent to Elena's would work, for instance).

I had this exact same scenario in TC. In the end, after all my attempts to protect the complex (killing the Thresher & it's escorts (losing consderable Boron rep in the process )), I just gave up. Believing the complex was now safe, I was furious when the same thing happened time after time, eventually leaving the Boron to destroy it and salvaging the food and bio facts among some others, and built my booze factory elsewhere.
