So I just took the plunge and bought AP. And I'm (slowly) cruising around refilling my map as a Nostalgic Argon this time, and I fly directly to the Military Outpost in Elena's Fortune and it's busy being destroyed by a pirate fleet with a Galleon.
Will the Argon rebuild it? I've never seen a Military Outpost destroyed before, and they tend to sell useful things.

Yeah they'll rebuild eventually.Vicrry06 wrote:Will the Argon rebuild it? I've never seen a Military Outpost destroyed before, and they tend to sell useful things.
Usually there's a capital ship or two there so that doesn't happen. Presumably they're patrolling nearby and will be back soon so if you hang about you might wind up with a big battle and some expensive dropped weapons..
Re: Silly Pirates
I was sad, because there was no defense force to protect it. For some silly reason they had moved over to President's End, and almost ran me over coming thru the gate while I was RSLG in that direction. That Titan's escort bombers still had their missiles, so it was a VERY short fight.
Why do you think that Elena's Fortune was my first stop? Usually there is some pirate activity there, but I almost always see a M3 patrol or something the outpost's missile batteries will take care of. NOT a capital, but it sure did drop some nice toys to sell right outside a station that conveniently buys equipment of all flavorsNUKLEAR-SLUG wrote:Presumably they're patrolling nearby and will be back soon so if you hang about you might wind up with a big battle and some expensive dropped weapons..

Educated guess here, but I'd bet that the Titan task force you encountered was coming from Cloudbase South East, where it was respawned at the shipyard there. The original had probably been destroyed at some point, either by the pirates or perhaps by a previous Paranid incursion. I've seen similar things happen in TC, so I wouldn't be surprised it happened in the more warlike AP, too.Vicrry06 wrote:I was sad, because there was no defense force to protect it. On the other hand, it also could've responded to a Paranid attack in one of the other Argon sectors and was just now returning. In a dangerous universe, these things happen. And it keeps the games exciting and fresh.
