Question regarding Factory Parameters

Post by Conbadicus » Mon, 9. Jul 12, 18:55

I looked in the manual but didnt find this.

When you adjust parameters for station wares, when you set the sell and buy price of items, there is another columb, Jumps, which changes based on the price. What does that mean?

Also, at the bottom there is advanced parameters and again there is a jump option set from 1 to 50. What doe that mean.

1. How far it is to the nearest station selling/buying at at most/least the price you've set (0 being the same sector).
2. The maximum range your ships will travel to buy and sell.

The jump number next to each item is the number of sectors away the nearest station will pay your price for that ware.
The jump no. at the bottom is how far any of your stations traders are allowed to travel in sectors (named jump because if your trader is allowed to use a jumpdrive). :)

If it doesn't work, give it a kick. If that doesn't fix it hit it with a hammer. If it still doesn't work, USE A BIGGER HAMMER!!!

Unknown Sector..... That's what you get for using Bing instead of Google!

Ok, but how would you tie a trader to a station without using scripts liek CLS and CAG, and as far as I know this option has been here before that

If you don't want to use CAG or CLS the only other way is to set it's home base to the factory concerned, give it Trade Command Software I & II, The Best Buy & Best Selling Price Indicators and order it to Buy or Sell at best price. :)

Totally unnecessary, unless you plan on giving it Manual Trade Run commands. As a factory-based trader, it never uses either of those two softwares. It doesn't need to because those features are built into the Buy/Sell for Best Price commands.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.
