Ghoul Factory???

Post by The Iron Duke » Mon, 9. Jul 12, 23:11

X3TC (2.1)
A: Can't find one. Any suggestions.
B: Can a Ghoul Production Factory be bought, if so where

I seem to remember there being a Ghoul missile factory in either The Moon or one of the Unknown Sectors south of Kuiper Belt, but they tend to get eaten by GoD pretty quickly.

As for buying them, even when you complete the Aldrin expansion plot and gain access to the Terran Shipyard I don't think they sell them...

Mars; I think there's another one in (Saturn OR Jupiter) (2 OR 3), but it tends to disappear PDQ, plus the one in US sector below Kuiper ar Kirlack has mentioned (which doesn't seem to disappear quite as quickly, poss. because of the lack of traffic (although this doesn't make sense either..))

you can't in TC without mods, even after doing all the plots

I shouldn't worry too much about it anyway: there're only a couple of Terran ships that can use Ghouls & the missiles are not that much better in combat than Commonwealth M7(M)s, despite their high payload..

Searched everywhere suggested and others, all gone.
Whilst probably no better than several other M7Ms, the Skirnir does look good, especially escorting a Tyr or Osaka. Aaah well! I'll have to recycle the
two I've "borrowed".

To be honest, unless you're playing for the Steam Achievments or to get on the official rankings, you could just install Cycrow's Cheat Package and spawn the missing factories in their original locations, or even add them to the Terran shipyard in TUS1. Just a thought :)

When starting X3:TC, I attempt to gain 2 or 3 million doing missions and then start the Terran plot as soon as possible. You will need to get to Regional Representative with the Terrans to buy Rapiers. as you explore each sector, dock a Rapier at all weapon producing, Ice mines, and water and food factories. (If you can't afford it, skip the food factories) Once you have a ship docked at a station, it will not normally disappear. (Pirate attacks excluded)

Or, you can capture one in vanilla which is imho much more fun. I got ghoul fab, m/am warhead fab and experimental EMPC fab this way. Don't know what to do with overproduction now (ghouls are easy, M/AM ammo just doesn't get spent fast enough)

On my TC universe Ghoul Fab is available deep in terran unknown sector. But only compatible ship for Ghoul is ATF Skirnir you have to cap first anyway.

@kurush
What do you mean by capture the fabs?

@ cheeseburger: Board a NPC TL with the station kit onboard on its way to drop it. See this.

Agreed, far more fun, but also far less reliable :p

Just popped into Venus first time; there's a ghoul fab there (must've been thinking of something else for Mars)
