Another case of PSG causing fps drop

I tried firing 2 PSG's on my deimos and don't want to try firing 8 because of the lag only 2 causes at close view distance.

Unmodified game

Albion prelude 2.5

Graphics setting: Anti aliasing 4x, Anisotropic texture filtering 4x, glow enabled, view distance high, texture quality high, shader quality high, more dynamic light sources on and ship colour variations on.

Start by installing SP1 for Windows 7 and then some proper sound drivers in place of the default ones supplied with the OS. At a guess your sound hardware is Realtek; you should go direct to them for drivers rather than relying on Windows Update.

And try to clean up and remove whatever you can from your hard drive. It's being overworked due to the tiny amount of space remaining and your pagefile taking up almost all the remaining space. I'd suggest, at a minimum, that you have 10% of your drive as free space just to keep windows happy. As it stands, your drive is probably highly fragmented, and data being swapped between RAM and the pagefile is causing significant delays in processing, resulting in the lag you're experiencing.

Edit: Well I had a go at cleaning up my hard drive and uh... somehow managed to get 300 gig more free space lol. Dxdiag report updated accordingly.

By the way, your onboard sound chipset is from VIA rather than RealTek so you need to look on the VIA site for the latest Win7 x64 HD Audio driver.
