X3:AP weapons: any changes?

Post by Ulan Dhor » Mon, 30. Jul 12, 09:39

I haven't played X3 in a while and just started with AP. I may have overlooked the topic, but are there any weapon changes in AP? Specifically, are fragmentation bomb launchers and cluster flak arrays as useless as before, or did they get any reason to exist*?

*For the sake of the question, I would like to ignore the reasons to make a ship easily cap-able and give you much money when you sell the weapons for a moment.

Unfortunately no. I like the FBL but its still very limited in its uses (works ok'ish in a m6 turret though).

CFAs were fixed in one of the TC patches, so they certainly have a reason to exist. FBLs are rubbish as ever, though.

Another weapon change is a damage reduction and increase in energy drain for the PBG, IIRC. Still overpowered, but not quite so much.
Allergic to work.

If at first you don't succeed, delegate the job to a minion.
