Where's my unfocussed jumpdrive?

So I'm doing the HQ plot in AP, and I just got to the part where they say, "Here's your unfocussed jumpdrive, now get out there and be somebody!".

Except it's not on any of my ships.

Currently I'm flying a Phoenix. Originally I had docked with a Kestrel, and I've got two other ships docked at NMMC and it's not on any of them. So what gives? Anybody else have trouble with this?

If the unfocussed jumpdrive is the same in AP as it as in TC then it's a player inventory item, not a ship ware. Look in your player status screen, in the same section where you'd find police licences it'll be there.

Ah, there it is. I've bound it to a key, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll keep fiddling.

The ship you're on when trying to activate the UFJD must have a normal JD installed, and at least 5 energy cells aboard.

UFJD is a skill to make the regular Jumpdrive to power up without locking into any destination beacon/gate.

you need to set a keyboard shortcut to the ufjd to use it.

as people above me stated it show up on your pilot screen.
