Phased array laser cannon in AP ?

It seems to be a pretty good anti fighter weapon. In wiki it says that only 2 can be get in TC.
What about AP ?

Edit- complete different question,
Im gonna cap or buy a tiger soon...what is the best weapon setup for the Split tiger ?
You cannot get that weapon in AP. In TC, it could be found in a hidden crate. Also, there is no ship you could mount it on, so it would be useless to you in AP...

Phased Array Laser Cannons cannot be obtained in AP without modifying the game, unfortunately.

There are ships compatible with it though, including the Split Tiger and Split Panther Raider.

But if you want them outfitted with PALCs you'll have to mod your game.

Try the PBC instead... it can be fitted to the Mammoth, Cerberus, and the OTAS version of the Cerberus.

To obtain PBCs in vanilla AP u need to use an exploit:

iirc
use freight drones command 'transfer freight via freight drone'
PBCs only found in lasertower (lasers)
otherwise you need to destroy lasertowers in the hope that some will produce crates of PBCs.

This exploit was fixed in AP patch 2.5.1. if I recall.

In TC you can have 2 PALCs if you are lucky and no PBCs.
In AP you can have no PALCs but UNLIMITED PBCs if you know how ;)

It is a shame that the Tiger/Panther cant but the OTAS Astreus Hauler, Argon Cerberus, and Pirate Carrack can ;)

the Ryu from the Yaki can mount it same with the Akurei (Sp?) in the 2.5.1 AP patch a lot more ships can mount it....

in TC i think only like 3 used to be able to use it and in AP (or at least 2.5.1) its now like ten or something

According to the ingame encyclopedia, the following ships can mount the PBC in AP:

Argon Cerberus
OTAS Astraeus Hauler
Argon Colossus Hauler (not buyable, sometimes spawns in war zones)
Argon Mammoth
Pirate Carrack
Yaki Akurei
Yaki Ryu

I think it was only fixed for unlimited number of PBC for negative values you entered. You still should be able to get one PBC from LT via it without having to destroy your LT.

You will have to do it BEFORE doing the plot. In the plot as soon as you drop the tower it is no longer your property and so the exploit will not work. Just drop the towers before the mission, use the exploit, then collect the tower again. :)
If it doesn't work, give it a kick. If that doesn't fix it hit it with a hammer. If it still doesn't work, USE A BIGGER HAMMER!!!

Unknown Sector..... That's what you get for using Bing instead of Google!
