Is it possible to board "Teladi Hospital Ship"?

Post by aleks2098 » Sun, 14. Oct 12, 23:26

I found TCWZ-61 (CV) "Hospital Ship" in Grand Exchange. Im not sure what its - it seems that its something similiar to Argonian Mamooth - but im not exactly sure - it seems thatit has also better hull.

Is it possible to board it? My marines are training in Black Hole Sun - and that ship is defenceless :).

Anyway - is it possible to board "Casino ship" also? :)

Casinos, Arenas and Hospitals are often TL-model ships, though they can sometimes be TPs too, if memory serves. Boardable as normal. Unsure if they can have different hull strengths, haven't heard that before.

Once you capture it, it'll become 'Your Mammoth' just like a military TL would.

You're looking at an Albatross. And yeah, it has a better hull than the Mammoth (like most Teladi ships compared to their Argon counterparts), but is slow and has middling cargo capacity.

Anyhow, I think a lot of us around here partake in a little bit of civilian slaughter every now and again. Since they don't fight back, they're a great way to train marines and a good source of income/resources early in the game.

Am i wrong - or marines must have 5 stars in mechanical skills to board such ship?

If memory serves, 5 * mechanical, or 3* and use a boarding pod.

TLs have tough hulls, but once inside tend to be toffee.

As Vim Razz kindly reminded me the other day here; out of a boarding party of 20, a minimum of 8 marines have to have 75 skill points or more in Mechanical to breach any standard CW capital hull.

Hull polarizing makes things more difficult, naturally. Using boarding pods adds one star to Mechanical skill, unsure how many skill points exactly.

EDIT:

Incorrect information corrected - thanks for that!

It's mechanical you need to get through a hull.

Engineering is what you need to stop the guys blowing the ship to bits as they fight their way to the flight deck.

And unless you undock it on autopilot, it explodes when it leaves a shipyard. Stick to Mammoths and MMBS's for construction.

Heh, I knew that - unsure what I was thinking when writing that. Corrected, thank you!
