This is the fourth ship I have captured and for some reason all it's fighters are still in the hanger and they are obviously not under my control. It's escort is also still following it. I was hoping to keep this ship but do you think I should just sell it?

If you sell it you will probably get the value of all the ships inside too, which is a big bonus. You can't issue commands to docked ships from the carriers console? What about attacking the ship/having enemies attack it on purpose so they might finally exit for combat?

If you're using vanilla X3AP then you can post your savegame and I can take a look.

I sold it but I didn't get money for the ships in the hanger. probably because they weren't mine :/ nevermind. I'm not great with the whole boarding thing in general so I thought I might have done something wrong. It is terran conflict. I have albion prelude but I find the idea of starting a new game after this one a bit daunting and time consuming so I will probably never play it. Heard it's not that much better anyway.

Are you still running an old version of the game? I thought the "fighters staying in a carrier after capturing" thing had been fixed some time ago.

If you *are* running such an old version then ISTR it's possible to claim the ships docked at your carrier if you move it to the sector coordinates 0, 0, 0, but don't quote me on that.

Nope, vanilla latest version. Thanks for the help anyway.

This is from late version X3TC if that helps.

Ah, that thread was really helpful. Thanks, probably a good thing that I got it sold then.

You didn't get cash for e docked ships? Are you sure? Admittedly a few versions ago, but the one I boarded & sold, I certainly got cash for all the docked ships - sale price of over 100 million :D

Yeah, pretty sure. I probably would have noticed. It wasn't anywhere near that much. Would have been nice though :(

This used to work, Don't know if it still does though.

Put Carrier command software, shields, a jumpdrive, and energy cells in the carrier.

You can then issue a command, something like Launch all fighters.

Some or all of the on-board fighters launch, Then jump the carrier out of the sector, because the launched ships will attack it.

You can then deal with the fighters as you want.
