2.5.3 Update (22/01/2013)

We're pleased to announce that X3: Albion Prelude 2.5.3 is now available, in which we extend the script engine and finally smash the Billion Barracuda Bug.

X3: Albion Prelude - 2.5.3 Changelog

New Features and Improvements:
  • Script engine supports local variables being applied to sectors
Fixes:
  • Fixed remaining issue leading to excessive numbers of abandoned RRF fighters

Just a small update for X3TC and X3AP today. As well as updating the Chinese localisations for both games, we're adding voice support for Russian to X3AP and preparing for the new Japanese release. The update for X3AP also includes a number of small fixes, including a solution for those of you suffering from the infamous "billion barracuda bug".

X3: Albion Prelude 2.5.2 and X3: Terran Conflict 3.2c are from now on available for download over Steam. The Steam client will automatically update your game to the latest version, provided it has not been configured to prevent this.

  • Localised achievements for Russian and Chinese
  • Updated Chinese localisation files
  • Prepared files for Japanese localisation

  • Fixed issue where many replacement fighters would spawn at shipyards (existing fighters are removed)
  • Fixed issue where captured or boarded ships from war sectors may be removed later
  • Fixed duration of subtitles and displayed hints in several languages
  • Fixed minor user interface issues

Nice to have update on a game which is practically free of charge, for any user who has X superbox :D
X to X3 is MENU SUPERIOR!
I think Egosoft has already worked out our doom, because Xenon AI will reach the stars! :D

I can kind of want to change the games voice files to japanese to make it lore friendly..... Is that possible with out buying the japanese version, when it comes out of course?

You don't need to buy anything as you can switch the language in the Steam game properties, but you will need to replace sound files yourself (if it's possible at all).

Well it seems this has just caused Steam to overwrite all my re-writes of the vanilla trade scripts I'd done. Note to self, don't update if you know some of the stuff is changed, always keep backups, don't be an idiot. ><

what about the people who have TC but do not use steam,are you with drawing support for non steam users,if so egosoft should let people no.the old one ps another kick in the balls for non steam users

Updates and fixes are awesome, but the game still has one fatal flaw that made me quit in frustration shortly after buying it: AI's inability to avoid crashing into stuff and dying. The best thing you guys could do is to fix this, maybe by tweaking the code so that damage from ship to ship (and ship to gate or station) collisions is no longer hard coded, but maybe rests in an .ini somewhere that players can modify. Set the damage multiplier to 0 if they like, for example. Please? I so want to enjoy this game, but I just get so frustrated by my wingmen going kamikaze all the damn time!

Oh, and while I'm building a christmas wish list, how about make it so that when I look around in my cockpit with my trackIR, the crosshairs stay pointing to front, instead of staying in the center of the screen?

It is necessary to correct still the immortal subject ships Angel and Xperimental Shuttle in X3AP, and goods reproduction by a drone, a jumping line in X3TC, this chits :!: :wink:

Japanese localization will contain subtitle only. not contain japanese voices.

and sadly, X3 japanese localization will not distribute to existing users(if steam account already have X3TC/AP.). i hear from japanese publisher.
