RTS/ Empire Take over [AP]

I know there are sector takeover scripts and whatnot. But is there anything out there that REALLY makes this game like a RTS where you try to take over the galaxy?

Its been a while since I played AP, but want to get into HUGE Fleet battles. Usually I just make massive economy's and station loops, but looking for mega fleet and takeover mod. (I feel like taking over things)

Well, I know of only two mods that would let you do something like that.

The X-Timelines mod

Both were originally mods for TC but now they are AP mods. The only catch is, they are both a WIP (work in progress) so that means they haven't been released yet.


Because of X3's spawn-based economy and a rather complicated interface, it's not possible to play it as an RTS/ in a strategic manner (the first point makes it impossible, but the later point just makes it really hard).
