Transporter Device and teleportation
Hi Everybody,
Has anyone else wondered why we have to engage in the tedious and often very time-consuming task of towing our mines to get them close together, when the teleportation technology clearly exists in the X-universe? You can buy transporter devices that allow you to teleport any kind of matter, whether it be people or wares of any size from one ship to another, and yet you cannot teleport your mine from point A to point B (nor can you teleport wares from your station to your ship and vice-versa, which is even stranger...).
Would be nice if you could invest in a large-scale transporter device, that can only be carried by ships with XL cargo capacity and a rather large amount of cargo space, that you can then just install on a Silicon Mine and then dump a beacon in space at your desired location to then teleport the station to that location. Having to drag a large number of mines together takes ages and is such a boring waste of time at tow speed!

Come on... you have teleportation, jumpdrives, jump beacons, unfocused jumpdrives, warp gates, point-to-point jumping... And yet, you have to tow your 30 mines with a tractor beam at the speed of a sick turtle...
I think it has got to be one of the most frustrating things I have to do in the game, which is why I didn't have that many mining complexes around

i do understand the need for boarding pods. unauthorized entry. with teleportation technology, i'm sure the tech exists that would keep somebody from teleporting in without authorization.The_Final_Stand wrote:I'm more interested in why I can't just teleport marines aboard a boarding target. I agree with Deathtoll - that makes sense, as there would be systems in place on ships and stations preventing unauthorized teleportation. It would be mayhem otherwise - you could steal anything from anyone's ship, and vice-versa! The X3R Bonuspack did include Cartel Shield Hacker for relieving other ships from items in their cargo holds.
