I need a Tractor Beam!!

I am doing the Aldran Plot and have to have a Tractor Beam.
So, where do you get one from and can it be fitted to a Paranid Deimos?
Or am I better using a different ship.

Third Redemption is the only sector I have seen a Tractor Beam factory. Once they have been removed, you will have to purchase the station and build them yourself.

I prefer using a M6 for Tractor Beam tasks.

To check if there are any remaining Tractor Beam Factories that you scouted, go to Player->Advanced->Encylopedia->Lasers->Tractor Beam, then scroll down to see if anything is listed under Sold As Product at Known Stations. If not, you either need to scout more (Third Redemption was mentioned as the usual factory location), or may just have to produce it yourself.

The tractor beam factories don't get removed by GoD anymore iirc. Too many people complained that they disappeared before they could get there hands on them.

Just because they exist, doesn't necessarily mean they'll have them in stock though.

If all else fails, watch for Paranid Weapons/High-Tech Traders in Haktikvah's Faith. One of them will transport 8 Tractor beams, which you'll almost always get if you attack.

I vaguely recall seeing a Tractor Beam factory somewhere in the lower left corner of the map (Boron or Split territory), but it's been a long while since I visited that area. The only other one I can think of is the previously mentioned one in Third Redemption.

I also recall seeing Tractor Beams at one of the "research" stations in one of the 4 Albion sectors, though I think it just stocks it (doesn't produce it). But check there too.

That would be Boron territory. In Queen's Harbor.
