Missile Problem

Post by anubis2005 » Mon, 17. Jun 13, 01:09

Hello everyone,

I would really appreciate some help here. I have X3 AP. My ships don't fire their missiles in combat despite the missiles being installed and having a firing probability of 100%. I can manually fire the missiles but that's it. Please help!!!

What missiles are they? Some of them will never be fired to moving targets by NPC.
I live in my Vidar.

Laser hit efficiency: 97% @190,499 shots
Missile hit efficiency: 97% @4,204 missiles fired

What missiles and what ships are you using? We need to verify that the ship is compatible with the missile.

Hi,

They are mosquito missiles firing from an eclipse. But it doesn't seem to matter the type of missile or the type of ship. I tried re-installing the game but it didn't help.

1. Mosquito missiles are only good for destroying incoming missiles, nothing else.

2. Are you piloting the ship? Missiles will only fire automatically for ships that you don't pilot (base on the fire probability %). The exception to this is Mosquito missiles provided you activate MDM in your command console.

Because you mention that you can manually fire the missiles, I presume you are piloting the ship. Missiles never fire automatically if you are piloting the ship, with one exception - if you use the Missile Defense Mosquito script in the Bonus Pack, your ship will automatically fire your Mosquitoes at incoming missiles and fighter drones, but not at other ships.

And for ships that you do not pilot, in addition to placing the missiles in the cargo bay, you also may have to go to Advanced -> Weapons and make sure the missile is selected in the Missile: field.

The issue is the missiles on remotely controlled ships DO NOT fire despite being installed on the ship (i checked on advanced->weapons).

Sometimes ship just won't fire missiles for any reason if they have guns installed. Try removing guns and see if they will then fire missiles and then put guns back.

Congrats, you have a bug, then. No clue what's causing it.

That may be the source of the problem. I once tried to set up some Keas as missile drones. Didn't want to install guns in case they shot down their own missiles but found I couldn't get them to do anything until I gave them at least 1 gun. If I recall correctly (it was quite a long time ago) installing the gun in the rear turret turned out to be sufficient to get the combat commands working properly.
