Operation Loose Ends: Getting that M3

As a Terran, have you guys found it easier to try to get a pilot to bail out of his M3, or simply to just get your Argon rep up by blasting a bunch of Xenons?

I just flew around the pirate sectors between Hatikvah's Faith, Split Fire & Farnham's Legend, blasting every non-military Argon M3 I could find. Avoided the military because they travel through there in big patrol groups. Eventually got a basic Nova to bail - think it might have been a High-Tech Trader.

Decided against raising Argon rep & buying one for a couple of reasons:
(A) there's a war on & they're the enemy
(B) probably take a lot longer to raise rep than to steal one

I'd suggest repairing the relationship with Argon, since you've got to be on good terms with them later if you want to finish one of the new plots.

Depends where you are to start with and what exactly you're after.
Argon do bail quite easily if you have an M6 or larger available.
Rep is also easy to build if you kill off a few Xenon for example.
Certain ships aren't purchasable even with maximum rep, eg. Nova Prototype, Mercury Prototype, Heavy Centaur Prototype.
At least one seems to be a buy-only deal (Venti).
Personally I didn't bother with my Argon Rep and stole their ships whilst selling them Space Weed. The net result has been a slow improvement in my rep to the point where I'm now able to buy M3s if I want to.

I'm currently in my Katana. Sounds like I'm going to need to raise my Argon rep anyways, so then I guess Xenon hunting it is.
