[Prlblem]Rank 4 with argon, and they still red?

Post by cryptonite1 » Mon, 24. Jun 13, 17:12

as stated in the topic, all laser towers of argon still red at me and attacks my ships whenever they get close to it, when my rank is above level 4...

also, the majority of argon ships in the world are still red at me, until I comm them and apologize to them ONE by ONE....like if i apologizes to a whole military convoy, only one ship would turn blue, the rest still red, need to apologize to every single ship, and some don't even accept my apology!!

I dont remember shooting any argon, although im Terran...but if thats the case, why do they enable me to dock at their stations? and why am i able to buy better ships when im rank 6? even if their still red to me....

and just to test, i even installed the cheat scripts and made my rep rank with argons level 10, they are still red....LOL, any tips or advice?

anyone experiancing something similar? or something im doing wrong?

Stations and laser towers don't turn blue automatically, you need to look for and accept "hack" missions, paying money, to turn a previously-red station blue again.

For laser towers, if the station is blue but the towers are red, you can place a satellite or a remote ship somewhere so it's in radar range of the target, and if you exit the sector and then look at the map of the sector, the towers should turn blue.

But only if you've made peace with the station first and turned it blue.

For ships, apologize to the leader in a group (biggest ship), should turn all the escorts blue too. You have to do this manually for each group of them until you get all of them.

EDIT: Also, if you're in the middle of the war missions, that may affect the red status separately from just reputation, as you're a war enemy.

I can't guarantee it's the cause, but if you claim a bailed ship after it's already killed a civilian ship in a race sector, that race may have the ship marked for destruction, and no apology will suffice to stop it. Ships you apologize to will turn red again, a few seconds or minutes later. The only solution is to figure out which ship is causing the problem and sell it
ASAP. If it's attacked a station, you'll generally need to apologize for its actions after claiming it, or there may be later repercussions.

I sell off any claimed ships that I can't verify where they've been and what they've done since they spawned. I only keep mission-spawned ships where I could see that they didn't get involved in a fight at the gate where they entered. Since doing that, I've never had a problem with "friendlies" suddenly becoming "unfriendlies".

Previously, I had at least two games ended when the Argon started attacking my traders and stations for no apparent reason, including one where I was happily using my repair laser to fix a claimed bail when some Argon M2 came up and unloaded its main battery on my space-suited character personally.

Unless you find the cause and remove it, and then manage to calm every already red ship without exchanging further gunfire and creating more trouble, you're going to be at war with that race in this game, like it or not. If it's your "home" race and all your assets are there, it may be time for a restart, or at least a reload from WAY before, to make sure you catch the problem.

Make sure you don't have Argon set to enemy in your command console settings.
