I fancy clearing out some pesky pirates and Xenons. What do I need to throw at their bases to make them go away?

Firestorms are quite damaging if you throw enough of them at a station, or you could sit in front of the station with a boreas and lobby PPC fire, but it won't work permanently.
I'm afraid those pesky xenon just Rebuild (respawn) the station. As do the pirates. It's not possible to actually exterminate them, no matter how tempting. Some people just try to make nice to the pirate factions.

Yeah, stations don't shoot back, so you can just park an M2 near each one and shoot PPCs until it blows up. Otherwise, yeah, Firestorm Torpedoes, but then you're throwing money at the problem.

PPC Fire? Lasers? What is this nonsense? Sure from a cost standpoint sitting a broadside opposite your target certainly makes sense. But it's just so much fun to use nuclear warheads to smite your enemies.
Tomahawks and Hammer Heavy Torpedoes are my murder weapons of choice. You won't need many of them.

If you're playing TC, it would be the terran shadow missile. It was severely nerfed in AP.

My Hammer production is strong, so I'd go with them. Firestorms are more bang for your buck though if you have to buy them.

Tomahawks are my missile of choice. You can't go wrong with 625,000 damage warheads.

Wrt Shadows - 'Tis so. Back in the good old days that's one big bang missile but there's only one ship that can fire it - the Skirnir and in TC you had to board it first.

If you have an M7M ready to go, you already know the answer to your question, so I assume you mean for other ships.
Firestorms.
Hammerheads, too but you can't make those for yourself.

Gotta love nukes that fighters can fire.

Don't waste time and money with missiles. Any M3 that can equip 8 PBG's will make very short work of any station. Flamethrower death FTW!

It's just so unsatisfying using PBGs.

I prefer to use Tornado missiles......(they are dumb fire so you have to aim them with care) just get the shields down and start launching, only 400k per launch but the sound of wave after wave of hits is the best noise in the world. boomboomboomboomboomboomboombooom.

So many wonderful options to scrap a station.
Cattle ranch drops might be in the running for cheapest. You could even get some poor sap in a supply TL to push the button for you.

um yeah the shadows were a little nerfed in AP, still when you go on a hunting skirmish and you have 320 shadows in your Skirnir its just too easy to press missile barrage 144 to station, then take out a few m1's or m2's with the rest of them...

Maybe to you.
I like to get up close and personal so I can see the whites of their fear-stricken eyes as their station is about to go boom.
Missiles are just so impersonal, and easy.

Weird, in my game i need about 80 tomahawks to blast xenon station out of existence, but maybe they were
buffed in AP, also, we do not realty want to exterminate all enemies, if we did that then who would we test all our new toys on?

I'm surprised no-ones tried it with asteroids yet (With a small mine on). I mean you can wreck a complex with a poorly towed mine, so why not do it on purpose
