X3 Albion Prelude - Load Save Game After Update....

Hello i have been playing in 2.0 Albion Prelude and got really far in it i didnt relise there was an update called 3.0.....

Anyways i clicked on steam and updated my game.... now i was wondering if i load a saved game that says 2.0 does that mean it wont be 3.0? and instead backwards it to 2.0? or will the saved game update to 3.0 and i get all the features of the patch?

If you want to keep your current save,do a manual save through Windows ,or use the Save Game Manager in my link.

If you load an older version save into a newer version game,then the next save will be updated to the new version.
So if you load a version 2.0 into version 3.0, all subsequent saves will be version 3.0.

You can't do it the other way round,so if you want to return to version 2.0, sometime in the future, save the complete version 2.0 game folder and make a new one for version 3.0.

ummm okey thanks i think i kinda get it... i think....

So i load up a 2.0 save game... then save it.... then the save game becomes 3.0?

i dont know if its the save game corrupted or a bug with 3.0....

But at home of light tera corp station.. i see 2 wares named 642_Ware_st 10,983 Credits

that is not exactly the name i forgot what the name was but thats how it looked when i was upgradeing a ship i had there... i was like ummm what is that ware?

Can you see the unusual ware? i am seeing 2 at every single sation in the game

Do you have any mods installed?
These can conflict and cause problems like this.
Typically if you load a save from a modded game ,into an unmodded game.
If so, ask on the s/m forum.

Do you have the Bonus Pack?
Steam update should not delete bonus pack, but if you used it in your previous game and just copied the new steam TC/AP folders,then you may have to install the Bonus Pack.

No what happend was i played X3 albion prelude a long time ago but i forgot to get rid of the save games.... so i randomly found em one day thaught i would play the game again.... downloaded from steam updated...

Then did the save game thingy so updates to 3.0 then went to play then seen that ware at stations...

I had no mods at all cept the bonus pack when i last played.... i just downloaded Bonus pack now did a new load game and still same thing

i think i know the problem its defo something to do withthe bonus pack from egosoft website.... as the 2 wares one of them is a speed boost thing for capital ships

i think i installed the addon wrong as my X3 game is installed under D:\ not C:\ and i had to make a destination myself maybe i put it wrong...

when i do a new game the addon is not reconised in it when i go to other stations

ahh there we go fixed... it was the addon not installed in the right place... its Turbo Boost MK1/2 i think thats what its called it now has a name

Yeah I was going to say, I had the same problem.

Those wares are the Bonus Pack Turbo Boost wares that the Split sell, and you see that screenshot when the bonus pack installation is screwed up somehow.

Mine happened when I re-installed my computer to get rid of a virus; Steam did me the favor of restoring my games, but I forgot to re-install the Bonus Pack again.

Also worth noting that when playing a AP v.2.0 save game for the first time on AP v.3 then the sector you start in might seem slow/jerky until you leave the sector or save the game. After that everything should be normal. Don't really know how common that is but it happened with me anyhow...
