x3ap repairing terran rep (again)

Post by firestorm79 » Sat, 17. Aug 13, 03:36

So there was an identical thread about 6 months ago, but thread necromancy is frowned upon, hence the new thread.

So thread title... how do I do it? my terran rep is pretty bad, as is my ATF rep (known AGI sympathiser) after completing the albion prelude plot...

I can get into terran sectors through the backdoor. megnir and segaris are blue to me, but I can't dock at the stations.

No-one there offering me missions...

if I build a self-sustaining booze factory (or 1mj) will they buy stuff from me? will that increase my rep? I can't buy their resources because their stations won't let me dock...

and if I build the station with hephaistos will it still count for rep gain purposes??

any other suggestions most welcome!

Start the "Shady Business" plot (AP 3.0). At certain point of it, you'll get a way to repair your terran rep.

I started building my terran rep back up by putting a few lasertowers in Segaris near the xenon sector gate. When they killed fighters, rep increased. When a P, PX, Q came through the gate, I jumped in with my tiger and made mincemeat out of them. Rep jumped very quickly.

Segaris, see if any Xenon enter, and kill them.

How is your Argon rep? Kill some Argon in the Terran-side of the war sectors and your Terran rep should go up a bit.

Sometimes there is a pirate base in Aldrin 2. Kill pirates and your rep will also increase.

If the stations are blue, you should be able to get missions, and you can complete return ship and asteroid scans without having to dock.

If the Hub has a connection in Terran space, Assassination missions from adjacent sectors have a chance to spawn enemies in Terran space, giving another way to boost rep. Another way to use the connection is to have another connection near a Xenon sector, attack that Xenon Sector, and hope to trigger a Xenon migration through Segaris to defend that sector (haven't tried this second approach myself).

I'm doing this now, I have run the gauntlet through Neptune to the Oort Cloud and the 4 unknown sectors where there are 2 pirate bases, kill a few pirates and your rep goes up. All the terran ships are blue past Pluto so you can get a few escort transport missions which also help as you protect against pirates.

I've been watching for xenon in Segaris and none have ever come through. /me disappointed.

There's also a jump beacon in the 4th unknown sector but I cannot seem to get it to work as a jump point. Has anyone else seen this?

That is a Terran beacon which your rep is to low to use.

This is what I hear, which is why I didn't think sticking laser towers will achieve anything... I'll give it a shot though...

Or I guess start shady business, but need to compete hub plot first...

I have fixed my rep quite easily in the end - there are pirate stations in various Terran sectors, I happened to see some pirates in Megnir so jumped in and got 3% rep increase from a bit of police work, then docked at the pirate station where a Terran gave me a fight mission - kill some deserter, when I'd done that ... I jumped from Insurgent to Warrior of Io! job done.

I don't know if it was a special mission added fro Shady Business, or if it was a normal one. I guess the latter as you can do good rep with other (eg the Yaki) using the same technique.

I haven't found a single pirate station! The sectors are rather big though, so might just have to send off my m5 to explore. But they won't be able to cross Neptune oos...

If you don't mind running a lot of Argon missions, killing Argon M7s in Terran war sectors (Heretic's End and Asteroid Belt) will cost about 2-3 levels of Argon rep (starting from Hero of the Federation), and give a 20-40% boost to Terran rep. That's what I ended up doing for my Poisoned Paranid run.

I set up a small mosquito complex in Megnir which is building Terran rep faster than I expected. They supply you with everything you need so the bigger the complex the faster you build rep.

Give a CLS pilot a generate waypoints, buy sunrise flowers, average price with a range that covers the sectors in question. If there are pirate bases they will show up on his waypoint list. You'll still have to find them, but at least you will know what sectors to look in...and more importantly what sectors not to look in.

wow... so generate waypoint can find stations you haven't discovered yet?? Amazing (and how in god's earth did you know that)... bravo once more Tim. Anyway I found one in kuiper belt... but I don't want to kill pirates... So I guess I should wait for a build mission then hope for friendly terrans settling down at the new station and giving me missions?

so they will trade with you even if your rank is terran insurgent? might build that 1mj shield factory, which I have been meaning to for some time...

If you generate waypoints to buy slaves, you only get pirate bases on the list, and nothing else aside from strong arms HQ.

As long as they do not kill the complex, NPC traders will still visit it. You will get rep from terran NPC ships selling resources and buying products.
Open tech factories are the best since you can get rep for 4-5 different wares. Energy, food, ore/sil and the product.
