[X3:TC] Can't switch CLS2 pilot to new ship

How do I put a CLS pilot in a new ship? I saw that there was no "move pilot" command like for TCS3. Looking around a bit more, I saw "Reassign trader" in the CLS settings, but it just rejected the command when I clicked on it.
I thought perhaps I needed CLS2 in the other ship as well. Still no go. Even stranger, the CLS command was disabled on the second ship, even though it has the same extensions as the first ship.
Both ships have CLS2, Trading System Extension, Nav, Special, and homebase set.
What am I missing here?

Are both docked at the same station?

They both need to be docked at the same place, but also they cannot be reassigned or fired if they are on any active orders. And they cannot be transfered into a ship that is on active orders.

I'll try that out a bit later. In the meantime, any idea why the second ship's CLS was disabled? It would suck if the transfer was successful but I still can't engage the CLS on the second ship.

If the option isn't even there then you do not have the required software.

If it is there but greyed out, then it needs a pilot. I.E. Needs to be docked.

Tried those things out. They worked!
CLS can be activated even if the ship is docked at another ship. But pilot swapping has to take place on a station.
