X-Timelines... [WARNING!! SPOILER HEAVY!!]

Post by Schultski » Sun, 15. Sep 13, 11:22

In the history of the X-series simulation games, not counting of increasing game playability and graphics, the X-series were so well-drafted in history making, albeit there are some story that didn't follow for a number of years to come, even after the sequel have out.

[=] 'X -Beyond the Frontiers-' [=]
In X-BTF, you fly an 'Experimental Shuttle', drafted and designed by the Terrans to perform a gateless, jump-capable small fighters for the first time in history, thus making the use of The Ancient's gates to travel far reaches of X-Universe faster than by travelling into them one-by-one. Later after some testing, the so-called 'experimental jumpdrive', 'bricked' itself and leaving you uncontrollably jumped away to a completely-unknown sector. Later on, with the help of the alien calling themselves as 'Teladi', you have unnoticebly forced to live in X-Universe for a first time, and thus... begins your journey to reach a way back home...

Then, after some travelling, here and there, you find there are 4 more alien races. The very-peaceful-order-by-nature race called the Borons; the ever-aggressively-increasing fellows known as Splits; the all-profits-making-are-more-than-welcome trader race called Teladi; and the ever-increasing-paranoia-of all-races naming themselves as the Paranids. Later on, there is another human-like race, the same race wavelength as your physical understanding, the Argons. Your journey then leads you to the Argon home sector, known as 'Argon Prime', which leads that these races have not heard of the word 'Earth' for a very-long millenia, and thus do not have the way of returning you to Earth, where you belong, as of the only gates leading to the legendary 'Earth' sectors are destroyed in sector known as 'Brennan's Triumph'.

Life goes on, and you eventually would find a hated-enemy of all 5 main races, the Xenon. These ships have attacked the all races without any haste, and without remorse. With discovery of this race, you're then to 'dispatch' as many Xenon ships as you can to Oblivion, and to destroy the main Xenon CPU-Core ship; the spear-shaped, dangerously-looking legendary M0-class Xenon super-ship. With the destruction the Xenon super-ship, the 5 races have calmed down a bit, and you've won the day.

[=] 'X2 -The Threat-' [=]
Take life as 'Julian Brennan', as the son of the legendary 'Kyle Brennan', the very same pilot of the 'Xperimental Shuttle' and a descendant from the so-called ancient 'Earth'. With nothing else to do after your birth right, have decided to do something 'big'... 'steal' fresh ships right after drydock. However, the 'plan' did not worked out as smooth as planned, and you were caught by the Argon One, the legendary Argon flagship in X-Universe. 'Ban Danna', the commander of the Argon One, have planned for series of missions to exclude Julian from jail. Thus, leaving the future of Julian Brennan, entirely in your hands.

As well, in this story, we have the future capability of landing to planets and to NPC ships, making a docking procedure would actually worth it in a different points of view. Also, the possibilities of planetary warfare, a battle of you on the 'Military Transport' you've temporarily boarded, and have the kind of 'shoot-'em'up' style, done in a full, horizontal-view 3D for the first time in X-Universe. The things in X2 were so promising then.

As adventure begins well, a new enemy shows up. Completely a new up-to-level species, without any attempts of diplomacy, nor even sent delegations, have attacked the 5 races. With its 'advanced beam weapons' like one would ever see, could quickly 'disarm' an means of defense into 'Oblivion', such as one on sector 'President's End', a complete obliteration of the entire sector populace, leaving no witnesses nor prisoners.

As the story sums up, these new species, designated by the Argon forces as the 'Kha'ak', does not only destroy everything that moves which doesn't belong to them, they also have planned -at least believed so, by Argon Intelligence Services- to test new 'beam weapons' on one of Argon home planet, the legendary sector of 'Omicron Lyrae'. With player's help, by destroying the 9 'power nodes' of the so-called 'Hive Queen', would incite the Hive Queen's energy chain reaction, thus protecting the planet from utter destruction, and Julian Brennan later nominated as the 'Hero of the Argon Federations'.

[=] 'X3 -Reunion-' [=]
[By the time of writing this, I have forgotten many things lately, as I haven't play it for a very long time I can remember...]

The story of X3-Reunion are based around building another attempt of the most exclusive 'Ancient's Gate', that will eventually leads back to the legendary 'Earth'. I could not remember the first part of the story, but I do remember the mid and last part one.

[NOTE: I will buy the X3-Reunion next week, in favor of completing my X-series history and to sums up my entire X-series games, excluding 'X3 -ALBION Prelude-'...]

As you progress in the story, a new pirate faction have formed, complete with Japanese-names on their ships and Yakuza-class Pirate gang. After a series of missions being plotted on players, you would eventually at a high-tensions with the Paranids, and at war with the Yaki. Later on, you would find yourself in the middle of the conflicts, as different factions of Paranid and Yaki have longed for the construction of the very first gate, that could completely decides faster of 'which race is the best of all 5'.

In this open warfare and inevitable conflicts, the constructed gate were at last finished, but the new gate were way too unstable to form new links, and so, if player doesn't do a thing before the energy-built reached critical levels, it could swap the player ship with 'hard vacuum', as well as obliterating the entire sector of 'Heretic's End', where this 'gate breakout' is taking place.

However, the problem does not persist on the gate one, but rather the unprecedented assault by the Kha'ak, and to add new flavors at the final battle, the entire Kha'ak armada [read: ARMADA... not just a few ships of fighters and a single destroyer, but whole lot of them, which seemed to be 'impossible' for players to defend for themselves...] seems to have been excited by the new energy nature of the new gates.

One problem strikes against another, and finally a new 'light of hopes' has arrived. After some endless battles against the Kha'ak, a fleet of unknown ships jumped in from the gate and with its completely advanced, on-a-whole-new-level weapon systems, these unknown fleet obliterate the Kha'ak entirely without any difficulty at all, which later on switch targets to everything that moves that are not with them. One of the ship then explain that they're from Earth, and they will guard the gate from anything that tried to blaze through it, although I've tried once or twice, and the gate would lead you nowhere.

[=] 'X3 -TERRAN-Conflict-' [=]
The game involves player in protecting every Earth-related properties [later known as 'Terran'...], including sectors, resources, and even diplomacy.

As an officer in outer Rim, you're charged with the defense of every Terran-related information, though why you're needed to is not an obvious reason [if so, then why there are dozens of ATF ships in just every sectors...]. However, it seems that someone outside of Terran Federation, have toyed enough with the hated-endlessly, CPU-driven, non-biological race designated as AGI -Artificial General Intelligences-, hence the Xenon, upgraded superlative to the old Terraformers [I could say, "Transformers"... but it might get a warning relating to 'copyright'...].

As players progressed through the story, it is later known that some factions of the Split families have acquired technology to build the old Terraformer technologies and are using it to gain advantage over other family. With player's help and a 'handful' of Terran vessels, the ship were captured and known that this Split faction has both the designs and technologies from a fellow Terran later known as 'Martin Winters', a psycho-mania of AI, Xenon-likers, and Terraformer-buddy all came in just a perfect package.

Later then, it is discovered that there are a number of Terran outposts, outside of known Terran space, are still operational, and the new 'Aldrin' sector is one of them.

As the player made contact with the Aldrin colonies, you will then face the most gigantic of all known moving ships in all X-universe. the #deca. This unit is a Central Processing Unit for the entire #deca ships, and it seems that somebody maybe using this unit to proceed in the next step of understanding the Terraformer, hence controlling them. But, with the help from the Terrans and the people of Aldrin, the CPU ship could be stopped, without actually destroying the whole thing out. Then, as a gesture of good will, you will then be asked to help the people of Aldrin's ambassadors to Earth, thus giving you access to the always beautiful, pearl-colored planet, Earth...

That's a story from which I got the impressions from the get go, to the latest of X3 TERRAN-Conflict.

It seems a little far fetched, but does anybody out here felt something 'wrong' with the entire story since the great release of X2?

Long ago in X3 Reunion, the story revolves around building a state-of-the-art gate replica, and then went of the rails, and instead of building new connections, it is connected to Earth, all thanks to Kyle Brennan and a scientist of the Goner [forgot his name?].

Went on to X3 TERRAN-Conflict, no longer you've heard anything from the legendary Kyle Brennan, but you will encounter someone known only as 'Martin Winters', a galactic worldwide law offenders, but not anywhere in game could actually apprehend him, and hand him over to the Terrans for his crime in the X-Universe?

In X3 ALBION-Prelude, there is the woman of love, Saya Kho. If I remember correctly, Saya Kho is the daughter of the pair Julian Brennan and Elena Kho. Now, what have we heard anything about Julian Brennan and Elena Kho? If the say about, "Well, we have them dissapeared for good.", wouldn't you be upset to think that someone who is a total hero in his campaign against the ruthless Kha'ak would've dissapear with no reasons?

Know how to best the X-Universe by one shot?
Push the little 'REBOOT' button on your PC, that should do it...
Try it... it works for me... believe it... it works...

Faitly good summary.

Julian meets Saya in Reunion,so is not his daughter.

He is evn rescued by the player , along with the Boron scientist, in one of the TC plots.

Saya goes on to destroy the Earth Torus prior to where AP takes up the story.
She stays there and effectively commits suicide by being blown up with the Torus.
