Mining ore

Post by Rdtcmtt » Thu, 26. Sep 13, 15:30

We'll folks I managed to buy three ts ships to mine ore in the ore belt, and I go around in my fighter and TP ship and explore and get recognizing and kill pirates.

My question is when my ore ships are full and I have them return to argon space to unload, I'm not really understanding how certain factories buy the ore.
It looks like they don't take the full load , so Im asking how does that work
They will buy a certain amount and leave the rest of the ore on my ships.
So how much can I sell to any one factorie or do I , sell here and sell there until all ts ships sell there ore.
I'm pretty sure there are ore needs where they will take all I get.

Thanks........Robert

Yes, you need several customers to empty a TS ship, that is normal.
You can configure one of your ships to unload the ore from your miner ships, and sell the ore - so you dont need to interrupt your miners ever.
with External CLS you can set up waypoints to load ore from your miners, and to sell at some nearby fabs that use ore for production - and then repeat.

Thanks for the reply ,
Well that's where I get confused , are you saying that I can have my two ships mine ore and have my third ts collect the ore from them and then take the ore and sell it to the factories.
I can have these ships do this on there own.
That would be great , but how can that be done.
The first thing that I do when I get a new ship is I load all the software trading , navigation , mineral scanners , ore collectors etc.
Finding sheilds is a little difulcult for them but they make it thru anyway.

I can see that this game is quite huge in a learning curve , and the only way to learn this game is to treat it like I'm really in space myself , and think logically.
Oh and what is cls
Sounds silly but it works for me.

Thanks ."..............Robert

You can find detailed instructions below - i think once you have the ship upgrade for it the menu will be more or less self explanatory. You will have to add the waypoints (ships and factories), the command (load/sell), price for sales, and quantity.
You can also play with % values regarding cargo space usage and minimum amount to sell.

You will need a transporter device in order to have you miner ships as waypoints. Also Navigation command software, and CLS MK2 of course.
Once the pilot levels up a bit, it can use a jumpdrive.
You can get all these at Terracorp HQ and Argon Prime.
You need the ship to be docked to start the command (it needs to hire a pilot at first start, and that is only possible at a station).

Vanilla means unmodded, yes.
Unfortunately, Reunion is before X3TC, AP (Albion Prelude) is the addon for X3TC. Reunion has some unique plot events and solving them will be fun. But X3TC is better.

You may want to open the link in one of the moderators sign, explaining many acronyms, if you want browse the forum extensively.

Also there is a genius introduction to CLS2 from timsup2nothing, somewhere.

Much fun.

Steam installed the bonus pack for me automatically. Did you allow steam to autoupdate your game?
Are you sure its not installed already?

Look at an Argon EqD for commodity logistics software. If the bonus pack is installed it will be there.

In Terran conflict one can get a TS to mine minerals, but make sure it has a mining laser.
Let the software do the work for you.

If you download the bonus pack from Egosoft's site (see the bonus pack link at the top of this forum) you can manually install it. You don't have to have Steam do it for you.

I did that and it's wants a folder to install and it's not there because I believe I got it from steam.

I it wants to place it in that file and it's not there if that's possible

You just have to navigate to the appropriate Steam apps folder for TC. Don't use the default one comes up with the bonus pack installer.

There is no TC folder that I can see , this is getting confusing now because I don't know how steam works , I downloaded the game from steam , and I show no installation folder , and there is nothing in steam apps.
I also went to steam community and got no answer.
So is there two types of ways to get x3 TC on your computer.
I downloaded it from steam , so I don't think there will be a install TC folder.

Of course there's an install folder, or rather, a folder that contains all the game files. By default, I think it's in Program Files\Steam Apps\Terran Conflict\addons (for AP). Or something like that.

Thank folks found the file loaded it and now I have cls , thanks folk this certainly make things much easier .

This game is unique in that I can play it while I'm doing other things around the house , or at work , I have a very fast home built water cooled computer.

Running 4.8 ghz , 680 gets vid card etc I can leave my computer on 24 hours a day if I wish, never gets above 56 c.

Makes playing this game very enjoyable , leave my haulers to there jobs and go do something else.

The curve on this game is steep but worth it as you go along.

Thanks again..........Robert
