X3AP - Goner Witness start

Did not realize that when starting as Goner Witness I could not enter the X3AP main plot!!
:? :? Am I missing something?

You should be able to do so. Are you sure, that you meet all the requirements?

Thanks for guidance. I worked hard as the Goner Witness to achieve Terran rank Hero of Sol (or something like that) in efforts to seek peace between the waring factions...so to speak. Thought Federation Overwatch and Hero of Sol ranks would be useful. Appears I must trash my Terran rank. So it goes...

Yup, you must trash your Terran rank, BUT only to start the plot. Once it's offered, they don't care what your Terran rank is, so feel free to raise it right back up to max.

You get the chance to broker peace in a later plot.
only then, does your rank mean anything to achieve that goal.
