Rude shock: PIrates with ion disruptors.

Game day 10 and i have never been so suirprised as having an ion disruptor beam right in my space windscreen. I was losing hull before i knew what that white glare even was but I've only had this happen to me about twice? Is this a very regular occurence because it sure is a pain checking the cargo of every pirate ship that comes out of every base i rattle.

In my experience rare, but enough to make me make the effort to check the cargo before I attack.

There the worst. Took my 50mw shields down in ten seconds and he never missed.

Your not the only one, I was a little suprise myself as it was a mandalay.

Just yesterday I saw a Khaak M3 attacking a trading vessel and was very surprised to see the shield on the Khaak ship disappear in an instant! When I got closer, I discovered the trade vessel was a Split Caiman equipped with an Ion Disruptor in its rear turret. It couldn't hurt the hull of the Khaak ship, of course, but nonetheless that counts as one of the easiest Khaak kills I've ever had--no shields to worry about!

I've been caught out like that a couple of times. Trying to capture a pirate ship with one in his rear turret is interesting to say the least. Had to hit boost quick and attack him fast from a frontal charge.

thats quite interesting , ive never had that happen to me, but to be honest combat against the pirates is soo easy it would be nice to have ID's against you once in a while...
