mining Nividium in X3;AP

hello happy people,

is there a fixed amount of Nividium which can be mobile-mined?

in X3;TC I had a handfull of TS class ships fitted with Orecollectors.
after reducing an Nividium asteroid they mined thousands of units.
I wanted to repeat the process in X3;AP, but things went a bit differently.
the haulers mined for a while, but then stopped.
one had 4 Nividium, another 24 and another TS had 84 Nividium in it's cargohold.
I haven't been in the sector since they started mining.
does that mean I have to go back and break more Nividium rocks?
it seems I can't order the TS with the remote miner to break the little rocks.
so it looks like that part needs to be done manually.
any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yes the exploit of infinite OOS mining was fixed in AP.

oops, I wasn't aware it was considered an exploit.
in TC I mined it first for the storyline and later for HQ production.
it seemed a nice way to get things started in AP.
not to worry though, there are enough ways to make some credits.

It's considered an exploit because you get an infinite amount of nividium from a rock that should in theory have a finite amount inside.

In any case, yes, the exploit is fixed; you have to go back a few times and break up the roid some more, and your mining ships will pick up the little pieces in their cargo hold, until the roid is all gone.

You can also still exploit; turn the finite amount of nividium you get into infinite cash:

On the PTNI and Seizewell stock markets, which allow you to trade Nividium along with the other ores, and your ship full of nividium entering and leaving the sectors counts as sudden supply or sudden demand, resulting in corresponding price fluctuations.
