Teh old core 2 duo e6600 isn't going to cut it this time lawl, but hopefully I'll be able to get a new computer by March.
In fact, I am using a similar aged overclocked quad-core Q6600 here and it is still an outstanding CPU if used with decent other components. It's never been worth yet to upgrade this to an i7, though this looks differently for the dual-core version.
(can just afford it, I <3 being stuck on welfare due to depression)
