Campaign - Can't deliver Defense Officer

I've hired a defense officer and taken them back to the freighter. If I check the crew area prior to landing, the officer is there, when I land, they aren't on the ship and are not on the freighter. If I leave the freighter, I still have a mission to deliver the officer and they are back on my ship.

I've even tried to fire the one I picked up and go find another and hire them but I'm never able to deliver.

Looking at the other issues, it seems as if other are past this part so I don't know if it's something with my particular session.

Ideas or suggestions?

What worked for me, was docking with the Capital Freighter.
Go onto the freighter.
Then go to your Menu (Enter), Crew, Remote Comms.
Select the Defense guy, then tell him to "work here".

Just do exactly as tyrant says. It's not clear, but you have to dock on the ship first and then use menus to tell the officer to work there. It's the same procdure as the captain which you should have already done.

Thank you very much. That had me running in circles for a couple of hours. I forgot about doing that for the captain.
