x3 Reunion on Debian via steam?

Post by NocturnalJoe » Fri, 22. Nov 13, 01:32

Am thinking about getting x3 Reunion on steam on my laptop but want to make sure it will work. I am running Debian 7 ( Wheezy ) 32bit on a Acer Aspire laptop.

Acer Aspire
Memory: 2.7 GB
Processor: Intel® Pentium(R) CPU P6100 @ 2.00GHz × 2
Graphics: Intel® Ironlake Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2
OS: Debian 7 32bit
Disk Space: 240.3 GB

Would be getting steam for Debian as well.

I think you'll be fine. It's running great for me. The only issue I really have is that the steam process will randomly create this fragment over my "start menu" button (xubuntu saucy). It shows up in game and remains until I start killing steam processes, but the game plays fine. It's crashed a couple times for me, but this could have to do with the bumblebee drivers on my computer. Nvidia optimus is terrible. Otherwise, it runs very smooth.

I have an Asus R500V. The only real differences between ours affecting it would be my processor and RAM.

Intel Core i7 i7-3630QM / 2.4 GHz ( Quad-Core )
RAM installed size 8 GB

Your processor appears to have a 64 bit instruction set. You may want to think about going 64bit and upgrading your ram?
