[MD] New Missions

Post by Guest » Sun, 15. Dec 13, 21:41

Hi, I've tried to write some new missions to make the game more fun ;).

1. FIGHT: Rescue Agent
1.1 scan a syndicate member to get the position of the agent
1.2 kill the syndicate member
1.3 rescue agent (= attack few times the shields of the ship)
1.4 collect agent (you need to have "Cargo Life Support System" installed)
1.5 transport agent back to station
=> available at Trading Stations & Equipment Docks of Argon, Boron, Split, Paranid & Teladi

2. FIGHT: Capture Ship Model
2.1 attack enemy syndicate member to force him to surrender (= attack few times the shields of the ship)
2.2 capture ship of syndicate member
2.3 bring ship back to station
=> available at Fabs in Argon, Boron, Split, Paranid & Teladi Sectors

3. FIGHT: Defend Station
3.1 build Lasertowers (after 15 minutes this step will be skipped)
3.2 destroy Jump Beacons
3.3 destroy enemy fleet
3.4 find enemy ship (10 minutes time left)
3.5 scan enemy ship
3.6 destroy enemy ship
=> available at Fabs in Argon, Boron, Split, Paranid & Teladi Sectors

4. TRADE: Ware Offer
  • special wares which are difficult to get will be offered
  • additional Engine Tunings / Ruder Optimizations are offered rarely
  • Examples: Phased Array Laser Cannon, Missiles for M7M & M8, Repair Laser, Cargobay Shieldings, Adv. Satellites
  • available at Trading Stations & Equipment Docks of Argon, Boron, Split, Paranid & Teladi

Compatibility:
These scripts should be compatible with every other script / modification as far as the systematics of the libraries "OBS" & "SRST" are not changed.
As far as I know no modification does that. These mission works for X3 TC and should also work without problems for X3 AP.
Available Languages: All.

Installation:
Copy and paste the file "director" into your installation folder.

Download:
Loggin & download the contend of X3TC\"Neue Missionen" on http://www.mydrive.ch/.

Code: Select all

Only to point you on this:
Combat Tricks from DrBullwinkle does change "OBS" & "SRST".
So I think the scipts are incompatible.
Your fight missions sound interessting.

... i know, but he/she (the "doc.") hasn´t changed the systematics how the OBS works ;)
... he/she only changed some values about the enemy fleet strength (afaik)
=> the important thing is that the custom OBS takes the same parameters to create the enemy fleet (which is the case for the doc´s OBS and mine, too ...)

in general: ... if a custom OBS/SRST works fine with the vanilla missions then this missions will function as intended

... they R interessting ;) **advertisingmyself:D** (the first one is imho the best)
// the "problem" i have is that i only try to use vanilla text files to make those missions available 4 all languages  ... however

Yes. It would be crazy to modify OBS so that it is not compatible with everything that uses it. :)

I do not know. Dillpicklle worked on XTC, so anything is possible.

But changing the parameters would require changing all of the missions, which seems unlikely.

... as far as i´ve seen "they" didn´t implemented vanilla plots / missions, "they" have rebuilt all missions
... so i think there could be ploblems with my missions (as well as with your/my OBS/SRST)

I don't know. There are several posts on the XTC thread that say that many scripts do not run normally on XTC. That is all I know about it. :)

XTC uses the OBS file, modified with extra parameters as required.

SRST was redone to include the XTC ships.

A lot of the vanilla generic missions were used, but changes were made where required to fix or fit in within the XTC framework.

None of the vanilla plots were used, as they didn't fit within the XTC universe.

... is it necessary to set those additional <params> or R they only important 4 XTC-missions ??
// can´t look in that OBS, ´cause i´ve uninstalled XTC ... (& i´m too lazy to download + install XTC one more time )

I can't remember offhand, though I do recall that a lot of the extra parameters were for handling factions, which in turn were set up via script.
This gave great flexibility in that a single ship could be created and depending on which parameter was set could be set as one of three racial company factions, one of two racial pirate factions, military, police, intelligence, special or standard race, and switched between actual race/no race (for rep/no rep loss/gain) all of which could be done easily on the fly.

Some of the weapon loadouts were handled by script also.

If it's your intention of making your missions XTC compatible, then you will have to go through it and test thoroughly for it to work...
