(x3tc) Boreas Loadout
So I recently acquired a magnificent specimen of ultimate destruction and sector capping goodness ( or spewing death everywhere), A Boreas. However I seem to run into abit of trouble when fitting it out with some death dealing weaponry, So what I had planned was:
Front,up,down: PPC EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!
Right/Left: FAA's
Back: maybe some anti missile turrets such as hept's? or IRE? maybe
This ship is meant to fight all around fighters and capitals not just specialize in one area I do plan to get more specialized ships later and larger escorts.
So what do you guys think or any of your opinions as from what I hear there really is no perfect way to do it, as for OOS since I do plan to leave it to defend my sector from what I hear is to have maximized PPC and some IBL's to maximize damage output. so yeah what do you guys think?

If it's for OOS don't even bother with missile defenses, focus on weapons with the highest damage everywhere (PPCs and IBLs where they don't ft). OOS missiles are auto-hit.
For IS missile defense, stick to mosquito missiles; the shields are powerful enough that only a handful of missile types will deal any real damage to it. If that isn't enough, set an M8 or two with mosquitos to defend it.
I actually wouldn't bother with anti-fighter weapons unless you're expecting a whole horde of them; particularly when Xenon or Kha'ak (From mods) are involved.
That being said, the Boreas isn't the best M2 to use in OOS defense due to having only average shielding.

Its not only for OOS as I stated I do plan to leave it behind in some cases, but the most im going to expect in terms of threats are the occasional minor pirate raid which will be easy, so OOS is no problem but for IS fighting what should I just get FAA's or PPC's? and for OOS fighting I suppose just stick with ppc, ibl or if they don't fit the next best thing I assume?
For IS, I usually (X3TC here) go IC (or PPC, if I can't get my hands on enough ICs) front, PPC left/right, FAA up/down/back.
Capship battles are normally something like "fly in a straight line to your opponent", which means I can bring those front batteries to bear. As distance closes, I can augment my damage output with either the left or right turrets (might need some maneuvering). In X3TC, this loadout usually gives me more than enough firepower to vanquish any foe before we get to knife range, and the three FAA turrets usually make short work of any fighters.
If i know that I'm up against heavy capship opposition, e.g. the usual Xenon blockade around a gate, I sometimes modify the loadout, putting IBL top/down - but be warned, even the Boreas will run out of laser energy eventually with this setup.
Throw missiles into the mix as you see fit. I've seldom seen the need to modify the loadout for special situations.

if you're flying the Boreas yourself then turretcommands are important too.
you want your IC/PPC guns to shoot capital ships, set them accordingly.
my favorite fitting:
front: Ion Cannons set to attack capitals.
sides: Photon Pulse Cannons set to attack capitals.
rest: FLAK set to missile defense.
the strafe engine is very handy to dodge enemy fire.
the Boreas is a beast, it can handle most things on it's own.
it's only danger is being swarmed, but that's where escorts are for.

Just got myself a Boreas too, same loadout as you, only ship that mounts PPC on rear turrets, perfect for clearing out Khaak invasions, just let the capitals chase you and they all go boom one by one.
But it is vulnerable to fighter swarm attacks and M6s. For this I carry 200 fighter drones, in emergency dump the drones, and jump out Boreas. A few 100 typhoons is also a good option, set at 100% and watch the fireworks.
OOS is okay if its only up against fighters. Any likelihood of a Q then forget it, it’s a ton of money and hassle to lose. For Qs I’ve found the best OOS defence is a wing of 40 Teladi M3 Haulers (200M shield, 4x HEPT), if the Q hits first you might lose an M3 (no big deal), the Q then gets hit by 40 Haulers and goes poof. After 10 hours of Q patrols I lost 2 Haulers.

@Cite
That was the idea I was going to plan for but wasn't sure if it's smart I don't want to go in to a sector and get myself destroyed all because I wanted to party
@DiArmada
Yeah I heard Ion cannons work wonders to help with destroying capitals but il stick with ppc as I have a complex for it and im in no mood to go and acquire some new weaponry as for the turret controls that's the idea, but I did download MARS so it should be no problem interms of turret controls
@AL'42
Yeah the boreas is a really good ship, I don't think I have any problems with xenon or Khaak im well away from any known sectors and if they wanted to get to me they would need to get through several heavily defended sectors with argon titans and collosii (colossusseseseses ) and if they do that heaven forbid they enter my sector they would be shredded by my immense m6/m7 fleets. Most of my capitals are docked on equipment docks or when I get my PHQ.
